After a major flood the client decided to turn the existing masterplan into a hydrocity, here for he asked the expertise of Waterstudio. At first a thorough analysis of the possible flooding in the area was made.
By only making a small levy on the north east of the island a big part of the land was safe for flooding. For the parts that are in the floodzone Waterstudio made a new design with new concepts that can resist the flooding, like houses on stilts, floating and amphibious buildings. In the hydrocity 800 waterbased houses and a hotel are situated.
